There are a number of companies and organizations that are part of the wood treating industry. These include associations that represent specific sectors of the industry, based on product type, region or business function.
Much of the information on preserved wood products is developed by the preservative manufacturers, who provide the formulations to treaters for use in pressure treating. In many cases, there are multiple manufacturers for individual preservative formulations.
Wood is the raw material that is pressure treated and there are a host of organizations that represent interests in forestry, lumber, plywood, building materials distribution, international promotion and engineered use of wood products.
